Week 8

Sunday, February 20th, 20011, was sunny and mid 70s. I flushed out our black water tank and got talking with one of our neighbors. Overflowed the toilet all over the floor. Fortunately it was clean water and no harm was done. Just a lot of water to clean up. In any event, Elaine was not happy with me. I made my seafood gumbo for dinner (Elaine had a hamburger and fries). It was very good although I used a bottled Roux rather that making my own. I added a recipe tab to the website in case y’all want to try it. After we watched the Daytona 500 we went to the Hard Rock Casino. They have a free slot tournament on Sunday and Thursday. We didn’t place but we did win about $10.00 which is good for us.

Monday, February 21st, was cloudy and mid 60s. It rained for about a minute and 18 seconds in the morning but the afternoon was sunny. Took Elaine to Hancock Fabric and then to Walmart. We went to the IP Casino for their half price “old people’s” buffet. It was the best so far (but my Gumbo was better). We lost the $10.00 we won yesterday.

Tuesday, February 22nd, cloudy and humid in the mid 70s. I waxed some more of the coach and Elaine did laundry. Elaine drove to Walmart and Target. I went and got some wine to have with my gumbo for supper.

Wednesday, February 23rd, sunny and high 60s. We ran some errands in the morning. Elaine read and I adjusted the brakes on my bike so I can stop now. We went to Sicily’s Pizza for their “old people’s” buffet with our neighbors, Janice and Gordon, from Norwood, NY.

Thursday, February 24th, was sunny and HOT, almost 80°. We had the A/C on in the car and the coach. We went to a Walmart in Wiggins, MS (48 miles) because Elaine had been told they had a big fabric department. Then we had lunch at a Sonic, a drive-in restaurant with service to the car by waitresses on roller skates. Very good but still not as good as Whataburger. Then we went back to the Hard Rock Casino for their free slot tournament. We didn’t place plus we lost some.

Friday, February 25th was sunny and mid 70s. Hung around the coach most of the day. Elaine sewed and I updated the website. We went to the Beijing Super Buffet for super. They had boiled crawfish and a guy loaded up his plate with them. It was heaped up. I went over and asked him how to eat them. He showed me how to break the tail off, extract the tail meat and devein it. All you eat is the tail. I had a few and they were OK but not very flavorful. I still prefer shrimp, crab or lobster.

Saturday, February 26th.  Sunny and mid 70s. I waxed some more of the coach and Elaine sewed. After supper we went to Bop’s (that’s not a typo) for ice cream. We both had hot fudge pecan brownie sundaes. Very good and only $3.99 each.
