This was a little burial ground out in the middle of nowhere.

This is a bridge we had to cross to get to some of the plantations. You could see it from a couple of miles away so I had lots of time to get nervous.

These birds were everywhere; some sort of a white crane or heron. Anyone know what it is?

This is St. Joseph’s Plantation. We did not tour this one. You can tell it is an American plantation and not Creole because it is painted white.

We did not tour Oak Alley Plantation either but we wanted to take a picture of the two rows of oak trees leading to the plantation house. They formed a “tunnel” that drew cooling river breezes into the plantation house.

The Cabin Restaurant was a converted slave house that had great food.
