This was the Twin Span Bridge over the end of Lake Pontchartrain on I-10. By the time Elaine got the camera and took this picture we were out of the construction zone. Before that I was driving on the right shoulder you see here.

These are the oil clumps that have washed up on the beach. They are scattered here and there. The quarter shows their average size.

This working lighthouse is the only lighthouse in America located in the median of a four lane highway.

This cinnamon bun from Boomtown casino is not quite as big as those we got at the Braeburn Lodge in the Yukon Territory but almost. Elaine got three breakfasts out of it and I got one and a half. FYI, that is a ten inch plate.

This is not a lighthouse per se; it is a marker light for small pleasure boats to enter a walled off safe harbor to tie up.
